Alien Mechanic
Dialogue
Hey there, two-eyes.
Oh, it's you. You didn't step in any cosmic goo this time, did you?
Got mana?
Watch your step. I wouldn't want you to be one of my next projects!
So that's where you come in. Your arms look strong. Especially the right one.
And if you're up for a real challenge and want to create an even more powerful artefact, you'll need to put in some serious effort and seek out the rarest of resources.
But, the integration of Elanien's mana technology is a fascinating process.
Welcome to Goldenfield, a place where the rustic meets cosmic chaos.
Now, here on Kwalat, I've adopted a new title: Constructor.
As a result, they have begun to construct devices from the remnants of ancient diagrams.
I'm D'Rek, a blind mechanic from the abyssal depths of a distant world.
Actually, I could use some help with a project.
Want to assist me with an experiment?
Sure, I have a job for you, if you're up for it.
Good timing. I was just about to ask.
No extra hands needed right now, thanks.
I've got this, but I'll shout if I need you.
Can't think of anything, check back later.
Give me some space to work, would you?
I'm in the thick of one of the most ambitious projects Goldenfield has ever seen - creating a high-powered mana engine.
It's a fusion of raw cosmic power, Elanien magic, and good old mechanical ingenuity.
I need special ingredients, not just any scrap metal. I require Meteoric Metal and a Titanium Nugget.
They're rare, unique, and rumour has it they can be obtained by mining the mineral-rich veins scattered across Kwalat.
Unfortunately, yours truly used all his arm strength this morning uh... working on a special project.
No hard feelings, I'll manage.
Okay, but you're missing out on the innovation of the century.
Alright, back to the solo grind then.
It's like a giant building set mixed with a spontaneous magic show.
Every day's a new puzzle, and I bloody love it. It's like Sudoku for the multiverse.
For a gearhead like me, Kwalat is a playground of mysteries like if Sherlock Holmes had a toolbox and no respect for the laws of physics.
They have started to comprehend how artefacts hold power and might have been used by their precursors.
If you're looking to create improved artefacts, that's a whole different ball game.
The higher your Construction skill, the more complex and powerful Artefacts you can create.
Why Constructor, you ask? Well, here, I don't just fix or build any old thing. I craft Artefacts.
But as we move up to more powerful and complex Artefacts, we can combine these characteristics in any variation. The possibilities are endless!
It's a fusion of engineering and magic. Think Iron Man meets Bob Ross.
I utilise my skills here in Goldenfield, trying to find harmony between nature and technology.
Artefacts, you see, aren't your run-of-the-mill trinkets. They're complex items, carrying two sets of characteristics.
It's a craft of precision and creativity. A basic Artefact carries one basic characteristic.
You'll need to combine two uncommon quality artefacts with the characteristics you want, all with the help of a little something called Isotope-238.
As part of a government initiative, I've been crafting Immuno-Stimulating Implants for outworlders.
They keep everyone healthy and prevent the spread of viruses from other dimensions.
But lately, my implants have been falling apart. Just turning into dust.
I suspect there's an error in my recipe, but I don't want to delete it until I'm certain.
I need you to craft an implant using this new recipe. If you succeed, it confirms the problem is on my side.
And if not, well - it means I've got more experimenting to do.
The recipe calls for Blue Lotus and Biocompatible Material. Nature meets tech at its finest.
I'll have to find another way to confirm my suspicions.
I'll have to figure this out on my own. Thanks anyway.
I'll just keep tinkering until I figure it out.
As long as you don't mind a little danger.
From watermelon patches to this workshop, there's always something brewing.
It's a world like no other. Residual whispers of Ancients echo in the wind, their mysteries seeping into the very fabric of existence.
The people of Kwalat are beginning to unearth the secrets and ancient knowledge the Ancients held.
I was pulled here through a portal, quite the ride I must say.
Well, it's a damn challenge working with these alien tools. It's like solving a Rubik's Cube while blindfolded. Oh wait, I am blind.
Blind as a bat but I see in dimensions you couldn't even spell.
I'm here, wrench in hand, ready to decode it all.
The Ancients, you see, were beings of profound wisdom and power.
They believed that everything - every organism, every object - holds a unique code.
This code, they believed, carries its own tasks and properties.
To figure out where it's all going, one must delve deep into the codes and unlock the essence of everything.
Only then can the limitless potential for creation be harnessed!
This is merely the beginning of a new era.
The primary set holds the basic characteristics, like Attack Power, Spell Power, Health, and such.
Then there's the secondary set. It carries parameters like Health and Resource Regeneration, Cooldown Reduction, and more.
The magic happens when these sets come together in an Artefact.
Usually, to create basic artefacts, you need to have its recipe in your database and the right set of resources.
That means recycled resources and uncommon goods from the gathering profession.
It's a rewarding pursuit, this Construction profession. The more you invest in it, the more bonuses you receive from your Artefacts.
For me, this journey is all about the cycle of creating and reaping the benefits, a rhythm I've completely immersed myself in.
Kwalat, now that's a marvel in its own right.
