Brackenrest

Brackenrest lies sunken and half-swallowed by the marshes east of Riverrise, a once-peaceful village now rotting in silence. Long ago, a troll emerged from the mire and, with brute force, shattered the small houses and residents. The village collapsed into the swamp, and what remains is a haunting mix of leaning huts, flooded walkways, and half-buried chimneys jutting from the muck. Fog clings to the reeds, and the only sound is the wading of the resident Troll and occasional splash of something moving just beneath the surface. Some of the descendants of the village live on, and hold a terrible resentment to trolls of any kind, wishing death upon the species every day.
