Beneath the Surface

No worries, mate. Keep grazing while the wolves run free.

So you're afraid of a bit of truth, huh? The powers that be would love you.

The powers that be don’t want us to find this, but we’re not gonna let them win. Dive into those mines, gather the fragments, and we’ll crack the code to a revelation beyond their wildest nightmares.

We’re talking life-changing secrets here, not just your grandma’s jewellery.

I need someone with guts to unearth the truth. And whatever artifact fragment is down there.

Listen up, fellow truth-seeker! I’ve concluded there’s a conspiracy wrapped in mystery buried deep within those old mines between the sawmill and the quarry.

No...? Maybe you will later today...

You haven’t happened to hear or see a woman screaming through the woods, have you?

Never heard of it. And as a treasure hunter, I’ve heard of anything worth finding.

Alien language? Ancient artifact?

Suit yourself, sleeper. Go back to your comfy lies.

You building something?

And you are...?

Alright, prep yourself for a bloody journey into the unknown!

Gather a lamp from the abandoned buildings around here, then head north to the Abandoned Settlement to collect parts for the mine cart and get your backside over to Varkus.
