Morick Voss
Dialogue
Oh crikey. Who are you?... I mean... Stop! What do you want?
Stand to attention when you speak to a Lightbearer, soldier!
What brings you to this outpost, civilian?
Stop, in the name of the King! Uh, or whoever's in charge here, I mean.
I am Morick Voss, obviously. A Lightbearer. Why do you ask?
I'm heroically protecting the world from this abomination!
A loyal guardian of Elan, like Lyna, my partner!
There's nothing we enjoy more than battling oozing blobs of corruption!
Fine! Very happy to be on this post on the edge of Hell! sob!
Alright! I'm sick of all the lies! I’m Morick Voss. I’m from another world.
I was blown here, to this nightmare planet, a few weeks ago. I found a man in armour, in the bushes nearby. He was extremely dead.
I took his armour, alright? It was safer than the lab coat I was wearing when I arrived. And he sure didn’t need it.
I noticed he looked a lot like me. So I took on his identity. Morick Voss. What a name, huh?
I’ve been pretending to be a Lightbearer ever since. I keep my helmet on.
My "partner," Lyna, doesn’t know a thing. I don’t think she knew the dead bloke all that well.
And if you rat me out, she'll chop my head right off. And that would suck.
You're at the edge of the Valley of Sins!
It's filled with blobs and corrupted beings thirsting for flesh.
It's a remarkable ecosystem, really, deserving of study. I mean, Ho! It must be destroyed!
We don’t know the source of the corruption. An artefact, perhaps? Technology?
It looks to me like a genetic experiment gone wrong - But what does a simple Lightbearer know of such things?!
We Lightbearers stop the corruption from spreading out of the Valley. My partner is very enthusiastic, and so of course, am I! Ho! and all that.
Hmm. I mean, Ho! Perhaps I can trust you.
You look fairly capable. But are you trustworthy?
That depends. Can you keep a secret?
Indeed. But this job isn’t for the faint-hearted.
I have a task that demands skill and subtlety, but maybe you'll do.
Not right now! Lyna may be watching!
The Lightbearers stand alone. Usually. Come back later.
Not yet. I need to gather more data.
I am self-sufficient, like any real Lightbearer.
