Gravedigger
Dialogue
Hello there, Stranger! Mind the open grave there!
Watch your step: you don't want to end up in a grave before it's necessary!
Hello! Welcome to the graveyard. Will you be here long?
Hello! Bringing me some new business, are you?
My name's Dax. Dax Treebill. I'm the Reverie Hollow gravedigger.
My family's been digging graves here for nearly a hundred years.
Heck, I dug the grave for my father, and he dug his father's grave.
Business has been slow lately, but it'll pick up, you'll see! It always does.
Well, back to work! These graves aren't going to dig themselves!
I'm fine, really. My back is a bit creaky these days and my left knee hurts when it rains.
But I'm still alive, and that's what matters. These dead folks here don't feel any pain at all.
Business is slow, though. Really slow. It's strange. I know Biddy Swoon passed away, but where's her body?
And she isn't the first to go missing. Well, maybe her family took her body away. I don't know.
But I'll keep digging graves. It's a family tradition.
This is Reverie Hollow's graveyard.
It's the most popular place in the village. Folks have been dying to get in here. Heh. That's my one joke.
Business is certainly slow. I don't know where the dead are going, but it's not here.
So I wait here, with my Dad and Grandad for company. They don't talk much, but they bring me comfort.
If you're planning to stick around, I'd go see that Pastor Fazool fellow. He seems to run things these days.
Why yes I do! Thank you for offering!
Yes. I do need help.
I will take you up on your kind offer.
Well, you look trustworthy enough. Sure.
No thank you. I'm fine.
Not today, but thanks.
Try back tomorrow. Something might come along.
I'm not one for asking favours. No.
