Meet Captain "Salty" McSquid, the grizzled, foul-mouthed fisherman who’s been out at sea way too long—or at least that’s his excuse for everything. With a beer belly that doubles as a shelf for his constantly-lit cigar, Salty's wardrobe consists of a stained yellow raincoat and a pair of cut-off shorts that leave little to the imagination. He’s always got a flask of “special sauce” in his pocket, which he claims is for “medicinal purposes,” but everyone knows it’s just 200-proof rum.
Salty's got a knack for telling tall tales about the "ones that got away"—usually involving ridiculous sea creatures like the "three-headed octo-pussy" or the "mermaid with an attitude problem." He’s also got a crush on a local sea witch, who may or may not be real, and constantly hits on her in the most inappropriate ways, offering to “show her his tackle.”
Despite his rough exterior, Salty’s got a soft spot for his ancient parrot, Squawks, who’s even cruder than he is. The parrot constantly interrupts his stories with profanity-laced comments or outright insults, usually aimed at Salty's fishing skills—or lack thereof. Salty’s response? “Ah, shut yer beak, Squawks! The ladies love a man who smells like fish!”
Salty’s ultimate dream is to catch the mythical “Big One,” which he believes will make him rich and famous, but his methods are less than conventional. He’s known for using dynamite, chainsaws, or even his old ex-wife’s wedding dress as bait. Of course, his schemes always backfire spectacularly, leading to explosions, sinking boats, and lots of inappropriate jokes about “reeling it in.”
