Gravedigger

Dialogue

Dax Treebill
NPC

Hello there, Stranger! Mind the open grave there!

NPC

Watch your step: you don't want to go into a grave before it's necessary!

NPC

Hello! Welcome to the graveyard. Will you be staying long?

NPC

Hello! Bringing me some new business, are you?

Dax Treebill
NPC

My name's Dax. Dax Treebill. I'm the Reverie Hollow gravedigger.

NPC

Family's been digging graves here for nigh on a hundred years.

NPC

Heck, I dug the grave for my father, and he dug his pop's grave.

NPC

Business is slow lately, but it'll pick up, you'll see! Always does.

NPC

Well, back to work! These graves ain't going to dig themselves!

NPC

I'm fine, fine. My back is a little creaky these days and my left knee hurts when it rains.

NPC

But I'm still alive, and that's what counts. These dead folks here don't feel no pain at all.

NPC

Business is slow, though. Real slow. It's odd. I know Biddy Swoon passed, but where's her body?

NPC

And she ain't the first to go missing. Well, maybe her people took her body away. I don't know.

NPC

But I'll keep digging graves. It's a family tradition.

NPC

This is Reverie Hollow's graveyard.

NPC

It's the most popular place in the village. Folks have been dying to get in here. Heh. That's my one joke.

NPC

Business sure is slow. I don't know where the dead are going, but it's not here.

NPC

So I wait here, with my Dad and Grandad for company. They don't talk much, but they bring me comfort.

NPC

If you're planning to stick around, I'd go see that Pastor Fazool fellow. He seems to run things these days.

NPC

Why yes I do! Thank you for offering!

NPC

Yes. I do need help.

NPC

I will take you up on your kind offer.

NPC

Well, you look trustworthy enough. Sure.

NPC

No thank you. I'm fine.

NPC

Not today, but thanks.

NPC

Try back tomorrow. Something might come along.

NPC

I'm not one for asking favors. No.
