This lightbearer named Gareth Rucker is a plant... he's a masked killer who utilizes dark magic to disguise himself and dons a mask to kill others. After nearly being caught by Shawna Turner, he fled north and lived in solitude - until the lightbearers showed up and formed an outpost. He used his magic to steal Finn Ragstone's face and left him for dead... a plan that got complicated when Finn showed up alive with amnesia. Now posing as Gareth Rucker, he is trying to master the lightbearer's ways, get information on Shawna, and kill her before fleeing into the desert. He is smooth cunning, and charming enough to get away with murder... except for the fact he often accidentally narrates his own killer thoughts out loud.
