Since arriving, he has been living out a groundhog's day scenario where, if he dies, he goes back in time to the day he arrived in Kwalat. He thinks the only way to escape is to live his life to its natural conclusion of old age, which he is now very close to. He is terrified of the player, because they have killed him in many past lives - both intentionally and accidentally. He knows they will server a great purpose in the future - one he cannot reveal, or it will lead to his death.
