ゴールデンフィールドの南端にはザッグ・クランクホイッスルとグレタ・グラブの家がある。彼はふだん町で書類仕事をこなしたり、ポータルから来るジャンパーへの対応をしたりしている一方、グレタは農場を守っている。彼が仕事で留守の間、グレタは孤独を感じながらも、通りすがりの旅人が畑仕事を手伝ってくれることで救われており、特にナスの世話を手伝ってもらえるのを喜んでいる。
