North Mound

North Mound rises like a wound in the earth, crowned by a ring of towering stone monoliths, massive slabs stacked atop each other. To most, it resembles a weathered ruin, a prehistoric monument worn smooth by centuries of wind and dust. According to Eadric Barrow, North Mound was an “arcane mechanism,” an ancient containment engine built to harness or imprison living laborers. The “unseen chains” are said to still bind the interior, vibrating just beyond perception.
